Precision Balls

Loose Ball Bearings

Chrome Steel Balls

AISI 52100
Chrome steel balls are through hardned in order to achieve the maximum mechanical strength. Balls made of this kind of material feature excellent surface surface finish, considerable hardness and high load carrying capacity, as well as excellent wear and deformation resistance. These balls are normally used in precision ball bearings, valves and many other industrial applications.

Size range: 0.396mm (1/64 inch) - 152.4mm (6 inch)
Standard grade available: 10 - 20 - 40 - 100 - 1000
Hardness: HRC 60 - 67

AISI 420
Stainless steel AISI 420 offers higher hardness and a considerable resistance to corrosion against water, steam, oil, gasoline and alcohol. They are not suitable to be used with chemical agents. This type of ball is suitable for valves, special bearings, in which the protection against rustproof-grease is poor or absent.

International equivalents: JIS SUS 420 - JI X20 CR13 - Z40 C13 - EN56D - Wks 1.4034
Size range: 1.000mm - 69.85mm (2.3/4 inch)
Standard grade available: 40 - 100 - 200 - 500 - 1000
Hardness: HRC 53 - 57

AISI 440
Stainless steel AISI 440 offers the advantage of higher through hardness than other stainless steel material, as well as a considerable resistance to corrosion against water, steam, oil, gasoline and alcohol. The high hardness, grade of surface finish, and extremely accurate tolerances ensure that this type of steel is suitable material for stainless steel precision ball bearing, oil refinery valves, ball-point pens and other rigid environmental applications.

Standard grade available: 10 - 16 - 20 - 28 - 40 - 100 - 200 - 500 - 1000
Hardness: HRC 57 - 60

AISI 316
Similar to the AISI 304 stainless steel, it has a better resistance to the corrosion under particular circumstances and this is mainly due to the addition of molibdene. L'AISI 316 stainless steel has a very low magnetic permeability which does not change in spite of work hardening for deformation. It's used for application in the paper industry, food industry and for other processes of industrial chemistry considering its general resistance to acids, barring the hydrochloric one.

International equivalents: X 5 Cr Ni Mo17-12-2 - AFN Z6 CND 17.11 - JIS SUS 316 - Wks 1.4401
Size range: 1.588mm (1/16 inch) - 50.80mm (2 inch)
Standard grade available: 40 - 100 - 200 - 500 - 1000
Hardness: HRC 25 - 39

Plastic Balls
Plastic balls can be used instead of stainless steel or steel balls in various industrial applications at lower cost than metal balls. The most common applications include micro-pumps for spray, dispensers, precision instruments, conditioning and automation equipment etc
Plastic balls offer above all the advantage of being very light, since their weight is very low. They are also highly resistant to heat and they provide smooth and silent running. They do not require lubrication. Another important feature is their excellent resistance to oxidation and abrasion in very corrosive enviroments. They also provide electrical and heat insulation and are not magnetic.
