SKF Cast Iron Take Up Bearing Units

SKF Cast Iron Take Up Bearing Units

SKF TU series take-up ball bearing units support shafts that need to be repositioned to adjust belt or chain tension. Each unit combines a sealed insert ball bearing with a cast iron housing. The housing slides along a compatible take-up frame, and an adjustment screw moves it to the required position. This makes TU units useful on conveyors and other material handling equipment where tension needs to be adjusted during maintenance.

The TU series follows ISO housing dimensions. SKF offers different shaft locking and sealing arrangements, so check the full designation when choosing a replacement. TU TF units use grub screws and have contact seals with flingers on both sides. TU FM units use an eccentric locking collar and are intended for shafts that rotate in one direction.

To check fit, match the shaft diameter, guide groove width and distance between the groove bottoms to your existing frame. Check the locking method and seal type as well, especially when replacing a unit with a different suffix.
