The N305 FAG is a single-row cylindrical roller bearing featuring a cage design. It comprises a solid inner ring, a solid outer ring, and cylindrical rollers held in place by a cage, which minimizes roller-to-roller contact. This design allows the bearing to operate at higher speeds compared to full-complement cylindrical roller bearings. Additionally, single-row cylindrical roller bearings with cages offer high rigidity and are capable of withstanding substantial radial loads. Their separable inner and outer rings also make them easy to install. Typical applications include gearboxes, pumps, compressors, electric motors, and agricultural machinery.

The N305 FAG specifically follows the "N" design, meaning the inner ring has two integral flanges, while the outer ring has none.
