The SKF SNL217 is a cast iron split plummer block housing designed to support compatible self-aligning ball bearings, spherical roller bearings and CARB toroidal roller bearings. Its rigid construction provides bearing support for industrial machinery, while the removable housing cap simplifies installation, inspection and maintenance.
The housing features a 150 mm bearing seat diameter, a 61 mm bearing seat width and a 95 mm centre height. Two elongated mounting holes, positioned at 260 mm centres, allow adjustment when securing the housing to its supporting surface.
Designed for grease lubrication, the housing can be configured for through-shaft or shaft-end installations using suitable sealing accessories and an end cover. V-ring, labyrinth and heavy-duty taconite seal options allow the sealing arrangement to be selected for the operating environment.
The 150 mm dimension refers to the outside diameter of the bearing accommodated by the housing. The compatible bearings listed below have a 85 mm bore; the standard TSN 217 seal arrangements require a 95 mm shaft diameter at the seals.

These catalogue combinations locate the bearing outer ring axially. A non-locating self-aligning ball or spherical roller bearing normally requires freedom to move in the housing; CARB bearings accommodate axial displacement internally and require axial location of the outer ring. Some sealed bearing arrangements require modified shaft shoulders; check the selected bearing dimensions before assembly.
