The SKF SNL3036 is a cast iron split plummer block housing designed to support compatible spherical roller bearings and CARB toroidal roller bearings. Part of SKF’s SNL 30, 31 and 32 series, it provides a rigid bearing support for industrial machinery, while its removable housing cap simplifies bearing installation, inspection and maintenance.
The housing accommodates bearings with a 280 mm outside diameter and features a 108 mm bearing seat width and a 170 mm centre height. Its four-bolt base provides secure mounting, with elongated attachment holes allowing adjustment during installation.
In the standard metric adapter-sleeve arrangement, the SNL3036 is suitable for a 160 mm shaft. Compatible tapered-bore bearings are mounted using the appropriate adapter sleeve, with locating rings selected to suit the bearing arrangement.
Designed for grease lubrication, the housing can be configured for through-shaft or shaft-end installations. Separate labyrinth and heavy-duty taconite seals allow the sealing arrangement to be selected for the operating environment.

The locating rings secure the bearing outer ring axially within the housing. Non-locating spherical roller bearing arrangements normally require axial freedom in the housing. CARB bearings accommodate axial displacement internally and require the outer ring to be located.
